When Rachel was young, she “adopted” a manatee with her grandmother. Thus began a passion for marine life that grew into a deep caring for all animal rights. When Rachel was 11 years old, she discovered a new love for photography while taking pictures on family vacations.
Rachel’s passion for scuba diving and ocean conservation began when she was in her teens. Over the next few years, she earned over 20 SSI certifications, including Dive Master. She graduated with a BFA in photojournalism from the Rochester Institute of Technology’s College of Art and Design.
Rachel is an active scuba diver & photographer, following in the footsteps of her early influences in underwater photography. She has made it her passion to capture the beauty of the ocean, motivated by her desire to protect the underwater world. Through her photography, she continues to educate others about the marine environment and its inhabitants, hoping as more people observe it, they will want to protect it.
